San Antonio wins the 2018 Rudy’s Cup, overcoming a 2 point deficit heading into singles matches and closing out Team Austin 14.5 to 13.5. A lot of late dramatics which certainly made for an exciting day went San Antonio’s way, as Austin could not hang on to a lead they key for most of two days. Scores can be viewed here.
The 2019 Rudy’s Cup shifts to a venue in San Antonio, TBD.
Austin takes an 8-6 lead heading into Sunday’s Singles matches and need 6 1/2 more points to win back the Rudy’s Cup. Austin’s first two pairings of both the Fourball and Foursomes matches (Hartenstein/Sandefur & Jay/Peach Reynolds) went 4-0 to set the early momentum.
In yesterday’s Foursomes match, Hartenstein/Sandefur were 4 down through six holes and rallied to win their match 1 up. The father son team of Jay and Peach Reynolds who were 6 up through 11 holes, and eventually finished things off winning 3&2, after earlier in the day doing much of the same in their Four Ball match, winning 4&3.

Austin has opened up a 4 1/2 – 2 1/2 lead after the morning session. Afternoon is foursomes matches. #KeepitBlue
The first group has made the turn and all matches are on the course. Current status of the matches has Austin leading 4-3. All matches are either 1-up or AS, except for Reynolds/Reynolds who are 4 up thru 9.
