2020 Firecracker- UPDATE: Event Date Change and Qualifier Results

As noted on the Golf ATX website, this year’s Firecracker has been moved one weekend later, July 10-12.  Statement from Golf ATX:

2020 Firecracker Participants:
The City of Austin and Travis County have made the decision to close all Parks for the 4th of July weekend. This impacts all Golf ATX properties and the Firecracker Golf Tournament scheduled for July 3rd-5th. In an effort to continue this storied tournament’s history, the event will move to July 10-12. We understand you may not be able to participate during these new dates and can process a full refund for exempt players that completed registration. If you would like a refund, please contact Jimmy Olivares at (512) 477-6963 or email Jimmy.OlivaresIII@austintexas.gov. Players that have qualified and will be able to play in the event must complete registration by July 6th. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation and for supporting the Firecracker and Golf ATX.

Also note that the Firecracker Qualifier was held on Monday, June 29, with 54 golfers advancing to the event.  The cut line was +4 and medalist honors went to Matthew Kemps who shot 5-under (66).

2020 Firecracker Registration

lions-municipal The 2020 Firecracker is moving forward!  Registration open Saturday, June 20th at 7:00a.  There will be one qualifier on June 29th.

The field this year is limited to 108 players and 24 flighted players.  Please see the 2020 Schedule for additional information.

Central Texas Amateur – Registration is Open

Registration for the 2020 Central Texas Amateur is now open.  The event will be held July 18-19, 2020 at Forest Creek Golf Club.  Cost is $200 per player, includes cart, range balls, lunch, dinner, prizes.  Eligible to all amateur golfers with a registered handicap of 7 or less.

Golf ATX update

Please see the following from the City of Austin:

Course Update Effective Friday, May 1st – Tee sheet expanded to 7:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. Maximum 4 players per tee time. One spectator per player will be allowed. Spectators must stay off greens at all times and social distance.

Pro Shop Check- in is limited 2 patrons in the pro shop at a time. Masks are encouraged when entering building or common area. Single rider carts will be allowed on the 18 hole courses only. Maximum of two golf carts per group (pertains to rented or private). Two bags may be on the cart. Driver must be the same for the entire round, no switching please. Residents of the same household may ride in the same cart. All driving ranges (excluding Hancock) will re-open with social distancing and limits on spacing.

Golf ATX golf courses offer a great golf experience at an affordable price. The six city-operated public golf courses and one short-practice course are centrally located and minutes from downtown Austin. Each course is unique in design and setting, and golfers of all ages and skill levels visit the Golf ATX courses to play recreationally and competitively. Golf ATX – experience a round for yourself.
