San Antonio took a slim one point lead heading into Sunday singles matches in the 2017 Rudy’s I-35 Cup, and never looked back.  The early wave of matches quickly extended that lead, led by a superb round from Danny Simmerman, and a 40 foot match winning putt on the 18th hole from John Pierce.  Austin’s Ben Carter was the lone winning match for Austin in the early going, winning 1-up.  The middle matches could not overcome early deficits and thus, the later matches proved to be inconsequential.  San Antonio wins the 2017 Rudy’s I-35 Cup 17.5 to 10.5.    Final Results

The 2018 Rudy’s I-35 Cup will head back to the Austin area, site TBD.  The home team has been victorious the last four years of the event, so good luck to Team Austin next year.
