Dalton Hankamer a soon-to-be sophomore at the University of San Diego shot 65-71 for a two day total of 136 (8 under) and a two shot victory over Manny Bhakta (6-under 138) to win the 2017 Hill Country Amateur, played at Crystal Falls Golf Club. Dalton’s first round 65 set a new competitive course record while his two day total of 136 (8 under) set a new tournament scoring record.
Jonathan Alden finished alone in third place with a 140 (4-under) total. Cody Price finished alone in fourth place with a 139 (3-under) total.
Not to be outdone by his older brother, Dallas Hankamer made some noise as well this weekend with the shot of the tournament – a double eagle (2) on the par 5 first hole on Saturday. Dallas finished with a 142 (2-under) total which left him tied for 5th place along with Curtis Carlson and Grady Bruce.
