Jerry Achilles was the sole Austin-area golfer who advanced to the match play bracket of the 2018 Texas Mid-Amateur Match Play, held this past weekend at the prestigious Vaquero Golf Club, just outside Fort Worth.   Jerry took the #7 seed into match play, and advanced to the round of 16 with a 2&1 victory in the morning match, but a 2&1 defeat in the afternoon match ended his tournament.  Jerry moves into a tie for 3rd place on the Senior Rudy’s Cup point standings.

Anthony Estorga of Dallas prevailed as the winner over Grant Bills of Plano, 5&3.
