Team Captain, John Stark, announced that Team San Antonio has been filled. Veteran members playing for Team San Antonio include John Pierce, Chuck Ellenwood (Captain’s Pick), Bobby Baugh (Captain’s Pick), Brian Marchiori, Danny Simmerman (Captain’s Pick) Kiley Hardy, Chase Clayton, Seth Johnson, and Jacob Davis. Rookies rounding out Team San Antonio this year include Mark Miller, Hunter Gathright, Sean Ferris, John Lamey, and John Sconiers.
Team Austin’s Captain Greg Smith is proud to announce the 2019 Rudy’s 1-35 Cup lineup that will be competing against San Antonio. His chosen assistant captains included Peach Reynolds and Ian Davis.
Austin’s Mid-Am team includes: Jonathan Alden, Jack Cersosimo (rookie), Robert Evans, Ryan Orear (rookie), Steve Paterson, Adam Wennerstrom, Alex Woodward, Jay Reynolds, Barrett Sandefur, Josh Luongo and Alex Ellis (rookie). The Seniors on the team will be Gene Black, Chris Hartenstein and Ron Kilby (rookie).
This year, team San Antonio is looking to continuing their streak for the third year in a row. The 11th Annual Rudy’s I-35 Cup, presented by Texas Mutual, will be held November 1-3rd at Fair Oaks Ranch Country Club. This year’s charitable donations have now surpassed the half-million dollar mark!
The Rivalry before the Match will kick off the weekend on Friday, November 1st and is a friendly rivalry competition open to corporate teams, individuals, businesses and other entities. San Antonio and Austin counterparts will play a six-some match at Fair Oaks Ranch Golf & Country Club. Not only do they have the opportunity to take home bragging rights, each player will also have nine different opportunities throughout the round to win $500 and a chance to compete in the $10,000 shootout. To cap the day, there will be one final shootout that will give an Austin and San Antonio Rudy’s player a chance to win $1,000,000 for their local charities! All proceeds from the tournament benefit The First Tee of Greater San Antonio, The First Tee of Greater Austin and Africa New Life.
