Updated rankings, Firecracker qualifiers and The Cup at Great Hills information

The current rankings have been updated through the Hill Country Amateur Championship, in which 32 players received points.  For entrants that received points in this tournament and other tournaments this year: we might not have you in your proper category (Open, Mid-Am, Senior).  Please double check and if you know of anyone that is categorized incorrectly, please let us know using the feedback page.

Next up is the first of two qualifiers for the Firecracker.  Firecracker Qualifier #1 will be held this Saturday, June 10th at Lions Municipal Golf Course.  Firecracker Qualifier #2 will be held June 26th, also at Lions.

The Cup at Great Hills is set for June 24-25 at Great Hills Country Club.  Entry deadline is Wednesday, June 21st.  Those wishing to enter can call the Great Hills Country Club pro shop at (512) 345-0505.   Additional information about the tournament can be found here.

Dalton Hankamer sets new tournament record; wins 2017 Hill Country Amateur

Image 2017-06-05_100643Dalton Hankamer a soon-to-be sophomore at the University of San Diego shot 65-71 for a two day total of 136 (8 under) and a two shot victory over Manny Bhakta (6-under 138) to win the 2017 Hill Country Amateur, played at Crystal Falls Golf Club.  Dalton’s first round 65 set a new competitive course record while his two day total of 136 (8 under) set a new tournament scoring record.

Jonathan Alden finished alone in third place with a 140 (4-under)  total.  Cody Price finished alone in fourth place with a 139 (3-under) total.

Not to be outdone by his older brother, Dallas Hankamer made some noise as well this weekend with the shot of the tournament – a double eagle (2) on the par 5 first hole on Saturday.  Dallas finished with a 142 (2-under) total which left him tied for 5th place along with Curtis Carlson and Grady Bruce.

Hill Country Amateur & Firecracker Qualifier #1

The 2017 Schedule previously had listed an incorrect date for the first Firecracker Qualifier.  The correct date is June 10th at Lions Municipal Golf Course.  Registration for this qualifier closes on June 4th.

CFlogoThe Hill Country Amateur is less than two weeks away, and is always one of the best tournaments of the year.  As such, this tournament was elevated to 1000 ranking points for 2017.   Here is a recent message from the Crystal Falls staff regarding the tournament:

Gentlemen, this is just a friendly reminder that the deadline for the Hill Country Amateur Championship is quickly approaching.  Entry deadline is Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 5:00 pm.  The field size is limited to the first 120 paid players.  As of Saturday, May 20th, the field is 50% full.  We will close registration when the field is filled or after deadline, whichever happens first.
