Jay Reynolds advances to U.S. Open Sectionals

Jay Reynolds was one of five players who shot 69 (-3) during yesterday’s U.S. Open local qualifier, held at Wolfdancer Golf Club in Bastrop.  Jay survived a 5-for-4 playoff  to fill out the eight qualifying spots for the 117th U.S. Open at Erin Hills G. C.  PGA Tour player Wes Short, Jr. is the first alternate and Omar Uresti, another former PGA Tour player is the second alternate.

Jay is 36 holes away from qualifying for a major and will go against even tougher competition during Sectional Qualifying, but whatever the result – congratulations thus far!

Final Round Results from the 2017 Lions Spring Partnership

Congratulations to Steven Bright and Tim Hamm for a final round 63, a two day total of 129 (-13) and a two shot victory over Greg Smith and Josh Swanson.  The teams of Taylor Greenway/Cyrus Turner and David Bales/Chris Benestante finished T-3 with a 132 (-10) total.  Rounding out the top 5 teams are John Perez/Phil Thomas, Johnny Fisher/Ryan Fisher and Jeff Shell/Jacob Walsh, who all finished at 133 (-9).

First flight winners Marshall Hinton and Eddie Castillo finished with a two day total of 140 (-2), followed by four teams at 143 (+1) total.

Second flight was won by the team of Greg Rosson and Daniel Northington with a two-day total of 146 (+4).
