Zimmerhanzel, Eckelman lead Senior Men’s City Championship

An eagle and 4 birdies was the right combination for Randy Zimmerhanzel to fire a first round 2-under par 69 at the Senior Men’s City Championship, at Morris Williams Golf Course earlier today.  Steve Eckelman matched the same total with 3 birdies to only one bogey.  Both players were the only two players under par through the first round.

Second and final round is tomorrow, with defending champion Chris Hartenstein and John Perez lurking only two shots back.  First round scores and final round tee times are available at the tournament information page.  Good luck to everyone tomorrow.

Senior Men’s City Championship – Round 1 tee times

First round pairings for the Senior Men’s City Championship have been posted.  77 players will tee off Saturday morning at Morris Williams Golf Course, starting at 7:30 a.m.  Scores from the first round can be found on the leaderboard.  Second round tee times will be posted as soon as they are available.

Texas Mid-Am participant omissions – Specjal, Grissom, and Kampen

Previous posts regarding the Austin area participants in this year’s Texas Mid Amateur failed to mention three other Austin area golfers:  Robert Specjal, Gary Grissom and Andy Kampen.  These three players were alternates from the Austin qualifier, held at The University of Texas Golf Club last month.

The Hannon Cup Association is excited to announce the Last Chance Qualifier

The Hannon Cup Association is excited to announce the Last Chance Qualifier. Never before have players had the opportunity to play for a spot on a Hannon Cup team.
The Last Chance Qualifier will be held during the Dogfight at Lakeside Country Club on September 21st. One spot will be reserved for both the Professional and Amateur Team.
$100 entry fee will cover the cost of Last Chance Qualifier and Dogfight. All proceeds benefit the Hannon Cup Association.  Click here for more information on the Dogfight.  Please contact Randi Long to sign up.

Sanders rounds out Texas Mid-Am players

logoJoe Sanders, of Bee Cave is a late addition to the list of Austin golfers competing next weekend (September 22-24) at the Texas Mid-Amateur Championship, hosted by The Club at Comanche Trace in Kerrville, TX.  Sanders shot 5-under 67 in the last chance qualifier at Texas Star Golf Course in Euless yesterday.  Here is a complete list of those from the Austin area that are competing in this year’s event:
