Luke Healy wins 2017 San Antonio Regional Championship

Luke Healy shot an even par final round 72 at Vaaler Creek in Blanco, TX to win the 2017 San Antonio Regional Championship by a 5 shot margin.  The only other two finishing under par were Brian Marchiori and Michael Freeman – both from San Antonio.  The top finisher from Austin was Tim Hamm with rounds of 73-74 (+3), earning him a tie for 6th place and 300 points towards a spot on the 2017 Rudy’s I-35 Cup Team representing Austin.  Other Austin golfers receiving points were Jonathan Alden and Matt Jungman (T8), with 223 points each.  Barrett Sandefur earned 186 points for his T11 finish.

Only the top 16 players were eligible to receive Rudy’s Cup points and with such as small field this weekend, these 4 Austin players get a head start early in the standings for the 2017 season.

The Spring Championship on April 1-2nd is moving to Roy Kizer

SA Regional – Round 1 Pairings

First round pairings for the San Antonio Regional are now available.  The field is set for 47 players teeing off starting at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 18 at Vaaler Creek in Blanco, TX. This is the first event of the season to accumulate points for the 2017 Rudy’s I35 Cup team.

Morris Williams Spring Mid-Amateur Championship sign up is now available

Registration is now available for the 2017 Morris Williams Spring Mid-Amateur Championship.  This event is open to all golfers 25 years old or older from the Austin area.  This is always a great event and a great way to kick of the season!

2017 Lions Spring Partnership signup is March 24th

Signup for the 2017 Lions Spring partnership has been announced for March 24th, 2017.  If you are not familiar with the signup process for this event, you will have to “ask the locals”, but in general: plan to wake up early with a pocket full of cash and a large cup of coffee.

The dates for the event are April 22-23, 2017.  Check the 2017 schedule for additional information.
